About this course

Interested in women’s history? Come and explore how women are represented in history in this short course where you will look at two Nottinghamshire women, explore the barriers to women’s contributions to history, reflect on and share the story of a woman who has inspired you.

This three-week course takes a look at two Nottinghamshire women who have made a significant contribution to history. You will explore materials from Nottinghamshire Archives that bring this history to life.

Not all women are represented in the history catalogues! You will look at why this is, and how you can support changes to recording women’s history for the future.

You will have the opportunity to reflect on women who have inspired you and share this information to continue acknowledging women in history.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

Relate the story of two Nottinghamshire women in history
Identify some barriers to knowing about women's contributions in history
Research and share information about a Nottinghamshire woman who has inspired you

Learners should bring a notepad and pen
