Dub Poet Anton
Born in Trinidad, Anton Bernard aka Dub Poet Anton started writing poetry as a form of therapy when he moved to Toronto Canada in the 80's. His first publication (It's Time We Speak) was done in Toronto Canada. He then realized he can take the poems off the page and present them in a performance to music. Walt Panfil 4pm
Alex Crowe 4:20
Kelly Lynn Noll 4:40

Feature Bios:

Kelly Lynn Noll
Born and raised in Queens, Kelly Lynn Noll has also been involved in many theatre productions over the years, wearing many hats as a performer, director and producer (including at the Off Broadway Comedy Club and at Playwrights Downtown). As a poet, Kelly represented Queens at the very popular InspiredWordNYC event, NYC Voices. She has been writing poetry since 11 years old and has worked on curating and editing her life’s work and will be publishing her first book. In her work you will see her passion for philosophy, her personal ups and downs, as well as her relationship to nature, God, religion and (un)requited love. Reading her work is like watching her grow up, all through the lens of her autistic-mind.

Walt Panfil
Walt Panfil is a poet and actor living in Bed Stuy. Their work uses uneven rhythms and extended metaphor to evoke emotional experiences ranging from paralyzing fear and uncertainty to unrestrained hope and wonder. They approach poetry like theatrical soliloquy; a chance to step into another person’s innermost thoughts and experience something through their senses. They draw work from writers across a variety of media, including Vladimir Nabokov, John Darnielle, and Richard Siken.

Alex Crowe
Alex Crowe is an ex punk rocker turned spoken word poet who grew up writing riddles under bridges in New York City. He was the frontman and lyricist for a hardcore and punk band on two separate occasions and even trained to be a professional wrestler before deciding to give spoken word/ slam poetry a chance. He draws inspiration for his poetry from his passion for lyricism, and intricate rhythm technique in underground hip hop. He cites underground hip hop artists Aesop Rock and Eyedea as major influences in his writing style . His subject matter is thought provoking, personal, empathetic and getting down to the harsh truth in a raw, visceral, emotional and performative artistic design.

Angel Torres 3:20
Tea 3:40

Feature Bios:

Tea
Words steeped with emotion flow out of the mouth of Brooklyn born poet, fondly known as Tea. Her intentions are to open your mind by taking small moments in time inviting us to see them in a more robust and meaningful way. Tea began writing poetry to make sense of her world and expand not only her perspective, but that of others. Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison are just a couple of her literary influences. She also finds inspiration spending time out in Nature and finds joy in delving deeper into the mysteries of physics. Performing barefoot she remains grounded and present as she performs her art.

Angel Torres
Angel Torres is a writer, poet, storyteller and filmmaker born and raised in the Bronx. He had been a journalist in his early days of writing in high school and college and has transitioned into the realm of creative story telling when delving deeper into his novelist side with an indie-published novel titled Light Minutes. Concurrent with that 14-month project, he decided to dive into his poetic hemisphere, which can be considered long-form poetry due to Angel’s meticulous yearn for detail and parables. Angel’s career as a writer has allowed him to transcend into storytelling for the screen. His most recent release, Unconditioned Opposites, which he wrote, directed, and co-produced, has (so-far) been selected in six film festivals, one of which earned him an award for Rising Director.
