About this Event
It's not every day that you can see, touch, and wear pieces from one of New York City's largest collections of ancient Egyptian and Roman artifacts. Are you ready to step inside an unassuming townhouse in Brooklyn to interact with an amazing trove of treasures like never before?
Join New York Adventure Club as we explore The Living Torah Museum / Torah Animal World, which features two separate interactive collections based on the premise that touching religious and cultural artifacts is the best way to learn about ancient history.
Led by museum curator Rabbi Deutsch, who single-handedly amassed the museums’ amazing collection of priceless artifacts, our experience at one of New York City’s most interesting (and unusual) museums will include:
- A discussion around the museum's creation and ongoing mission to serve the local community
- A visit to the Living Torah Museum, which contains treasures and artifacts from thousands of years ago — unlike any other museum you’ve ever visited, you’ll be able to touch, wear, and, wield ancient relics from the past!
- A peek inside Torah Animal World, the world’s largest Hasidic taxidermy museum, which is filled with every animal mentioned in the Torah, expertly preserved in true-to-life poses to teach the local children of the animals outside of NYC
See you there!
*Those who are uncomfortable with taxidermy exhibits in Torah Animal World are advised to only stay for the Living Torah Museum portion
**Please dress respectfully
Testimonials
"The head of the museum was extremely informative and entertaining" -Lisa
"I had been wanting to go to this museum for a while but was intimidated because you have to call and make an appointment for a tour. Knowing that NYAC was doing that legwork, and that there would be other people on the tour as well, made me comfortable enough to join in. I had a great time and will definitely use NY Adventure Club for more activities like this in the future, namely, activities that I might not be comfortable organizing or attending on my own but would love to do with a group." -Carolyn
"The vast collection of animals and the very clear way the Rabbi explained everything" -Stephen
"The museum is wonderful and the rabbi is a passionate, knowledgable and eccentric guide." -Faye

"The interaction with ancient artifacts and how ancient and valuable they were with a well informed tour guide who taught with textile. I now know why you don’t see 24 karat gold everywhere and I will never forget it." -Jacob
"I loved how hands on the event was, having a smaller group everyone was able to participate and experience it all. Rabbi Deutsch was great." -Linsday
