Preparing for the Fourth Trimester Course is for pregnant mothers and families - to prepare for a nourishing, regenerative postpartum period.
This course focuses on the 5 Essentials of Postpartum Care - which are found throughout the world's postpartum traditions and are deeply rooted in women's physiologic and psychologic design.

This class is being taught by Certified INNATE Postpartum Care Providers, Megan Schafers, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and Angela Dechaine, a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist.
INNATE’s Preparing for the Fourth Trimester Course happens PRENATALLY.
Information and education about postpartum physiology & psychology is shared, and each family is guided to discern what will truly be supportive for them and meet their unique needs in the postpartum time.
The Preparing for the 4th Trimester Course offers:
- Essential postpartum education to women and their families with time-tested postpartum wisdom interwoven with modern science, which supports women’s long-term health and vitality.
- Nourishing truthful information - helping to lead families in the right direction for an optimal postpartum period, in the name of creating a solid foundation for thriving family systems.
- Help for families to conceive postpartum care plans tailored to the unique needs of their own family.
- Support for the creation of or the fortification of COMMUNITY.
- and Offers CONTINUITY OF CARE. Megan and Angela are both INNATE Postpartum Care – Certified Providers and each work with families, more specifically mothers & babies in their own ways, and are able to provide you and your family with support in the postpartum time. Continuity of care within the medical world is understood to ‘improve clinical outcomes.’ Meaning that: continuity of care helps to facilitate healing.
In recognizing that which is truly necessary during the postpartum experience, we bring honor and a layer of completion to our rites of passage into Motherhood and Fatherhood.
This class will happen over 2 half-days, on January 17th & 18th, 2026 from 9:00am to 1:00pm, at 15 minutes outside of Sherwood Park (52104 Range Road 223 in Sherwood Park, Alberta).
