Saturday 11th April 2026 - You are invited Community Open Day at Inis Oírr Lighthouse:Would you like to be involved in the development of Inis Oírr Lighthouse and help shape its future for the benefit of our island and community?
Comhar Caomhán, together with Údarás na Gaeltachta and The Commissioner of Irish Lights, invite you to our Community Open Day & Ideas Meeting on Saturday 11th April 2026. Our friends in Áras Éanna will be with us on the day also.
Visit & Explore 11.00am – 3.00pm | Inis Oírr Lighthouse
This is a unique opportunity to explore the lighthouse tower and the Keepers' dwellings. Walk the site, see the Keeper cottages, learn about the work of Irish Lights today, and climb to the top of the tower.
Ideas & Future Vision Meeting 3.30pm – 5.00pm | Halla Pobal
After visiting the lighthouse, join an open and informal discussion to share ideas and explore opportunities together.
Let's take time to imagine what the lighthouse could offer, who might be involved in bringing this vision to life, and what success could look like for the island and community.
Eimear Ní Mhathúna from Teach Solais Fhanada will join us to share their story.
We want to hear your views and what you might be willing to contribute to help make this vision a reality.
