About this Event
An informal launch of Volume 0, an artist book composed of images, field notes, and essays, moving between body, landscape, and speculative ways of knowing.
The event will be led by Jen Clarke and will include a short introduction, a brief reading, and space for conversation. We will also share a short introduction to the accompanying workshop with Marta Kucza.
Volume 0 was developed through the UKRI-funded Treescapes (Agroforestry Futures) project. The book is by Jen Clarke (Gray’s School of Art, RGU), with contributions by artists Fionn Duffy and Alison J. Scott, design by Francisca José, and production by Neil Corral at Peacock, A Workshop for Art.
Jen Clarke is an artist-anthropologist and Associate Professor at Gray’s School of Art, whose feminist and collaborative work explores image-making, forest ecologies, Japan and creative ways of sensing and responding to the world.
Marta Kucza is a filmmaker, workshop facilitator and PhD researcher at the University of Tartu, whose work explores sound, image and embodied ways of learning with plants, animals and more-than-human environments.
