THE HARAPPAN TIME TRAVELLERS
An Immersive Hands-On Workshop for Kids (Ages 8–14)
What if your child could travel 5,000 years back in time… and build one of the world’s oldest civilizations?
Welcome to The Harappan Time Travellers — a fun-filled, highly interactive 3 hr workshop where children become architects, traders, explorers, engineers and storytellers from the Indus Valley Civilization.
This is not a classroom lecture.
Children will:
• Build their own Harappan city using miniature clay bricks
• Create working water management systems
• Weigh objects using ancient Harappan techniques
• Work in teams to design roads, markets and houses
• Discover how one of the world’s oldest civilizations lived, traded and disappeared
Throughout the workshop, children are constantly creating, experimenting, building and solving problems together — while unknowingly learning history, teamwork, storytelling and creative thinking.
One moment they are city planners. The next moment they are traders, builders or explorers trying to solve a 5,000-year-old mystery.
The experience is designed to spark:
• Curiosity
• Creativity
• Teamwork
• Imagination
• Confidence
• Problem-solving skills
Each child also takes home:
• A packet of ancient weighing seeds (non-toxic)
• Memories from a civilization they helped bring alive
Hosted by Ashwini (@thehistoryjunkiee), founder of Tracing the Forgotten Roots — a heritage storyteller passionate about making Indian history exciting, immersive and unforgettable for children.
