We will be hosting John Walker from Mackay to run this event. John has extensive experience patience in all indigo related activities.
He has also been part one of the dyers that have travelled to a tiny village in Tukya to assist the locals develop an indigo industry.
Indigo extraction vat. Indigo dye vat and techniques.
Dyeing with indigo and some other local natural plants.
Spinning wheels, inkle looms and other fibre equipment will be out to play with.
Welcome to bring your own favourite fibrecraft to share with members.
Cost is $200 per person. All equipment provided.
Maximum 15 participants. Including myself.
Chance to win a hand spun, dyed and woven John Walker creation. Value $800.
Camping spots available or bring a camp bed and we'll turn the shed into a bunk house. Rooms for caravans.
It'll be in our courtyard with BBQs available. Food to be decided closer to date. Tea and brewed coffee available at all times.
Plenty of time to chat and share fibre crafts, etc. Inspiration from the dams, birds and gardens.
