Indigo Natural Dye Workshop

Travel back 5,000 years and discover the magic of indigo! Indigo dyeing began in India around 3,000 BCE and journeyed along the Silk Road to Greece and Rome as a rare and luxurious good. At a time when blue colorants were scarce and highly valuable, indigo became one of the world’s most treasured pigments. By the 6th century, its rich hues had spread to China and Japan, shaping textile traditions across continents.
Now, this ancient art form is coming to RenewAll Inc. on March 21 for a hands-on afternoon workshop.
Join us to learn the fundamentals of indigo dyeing, including how to properly set up and maintain a dye vat. Each participant will dye one silk scarf, exploring the beauty and unpredictability of this natural process. All materials are provided, just bring your curiosity and creativity.
Come experience the transformation as fabric meets dye and emerges in stunning shades of blue.
