About this Event
Join WFYI Live for an Indie Lens Pop-Up screening of The Librarians on April 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at Central Library. This screening is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is recommended. This event is part of the Indie Lens Pop-Up community series which brings people together for film screenings and community-driven conversations.
Following the screening, WFYI's Education Editor Eric Weddle will moderate a discussion.
When Texas lawmakers seek to review a list of books, librarians find themselves on the frontlines of a national battle. Across the U.S., librarians face the impact of uniting against library collection standards that include restrictions on race-related and LGBTQIA+ content. Drawing on historical context, The Librarians explores the broader implications for education and public life.
