-Sidewalk chalk art competition: We're launching a chalk art contest! The theme of this year's contest is Freedom to Read. Teams of 1-4 can register to reserve one 60x48 in square of sidewalk in front of our store. Check in is from 12:30-1 PM. Designing can start at 1 pm and must be finished by 3 pm. Judges will begin reviewing the art at 3 pm. Awards will be presented at 4 pm outside Rooted Books & Gifts. First place will receive a $50 Rooted gift card; second place will receive a $30 Rooted gift card; third place will receive a $20 gift card. Artists must only use sidewalk chalk (no paint, spray paint, etc). Stencils are permitted. Artists may bring their own chalk; a limited amount of chalk will be provided.
