About this Event

DMHA is providing an in-person, 40-hour Certified Crisis Peer Training held at the Indiana Government Center South 302 W Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46204 in Conference Room 29.

This 5-day course will prepare Certified Peer Support Specialists to work in peer support roles in crisis service environments. The training runs from 9am-4pm starting Monday, September 21st through Friday, September 25, 2026.

The training supports the development/honing of skills focused on the following areas: 1) Peer relationships in crisis services, 2) cooling the crisis, 3) peer practice improvement: debriefing and supervision, 4) crisis peer support and teamwork, and 5) self-development in peer support: professional development and self-care.

You must be certified as a peer for one year AND employed as a peer for minimum of 1 year in order to register for the training.


Know Before You Go – Parking and Other Details

Location: 402 W Washington street, Indianapolis, IN 46204.

Parking: Indiana Government Center Parking; 42 S Missouri street - bring your parking ticket for validation to W353 which is Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction Main Office on the 3rd floor of the 402 W Washington St building.

➢ In the event of Washington Street garage being closed for “Employees Only,” you can also find parking in the Surface Lot behind the State House (249 W. New York Street) or the North Garage (220 N. Senate Avenue). These are the three parking options that qualify for validation.

➢ Street parking and other parking garages are available near the government center, but we will not be able to validate the parking ticket.

Arrival: Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early to secure parking, pass through the security checkpoint, and have your parking validated at check-in.

Access: All attendees will need to enter the government center south building through the public entrance and pass through the security checkpoint. Go to the information desk and ask for your Conference Room after passing through security.

Lunch: Attendees are responsible for their own lunch. The Government Center has a cafeteria on the lower level as well as a snack shop near the conference rooms.

Downtown Indianapolis also has several options both within walking and short driving distance.
