Independent Venue Week-Tom Webber\/Nick Saxton

Tom Webber
Growing up with his grandfather being his musical mentor, Tom loved listening to anyone from The Everly Brothers to Sam Cooke to Hank Williams. He started out playing covers and busking on the streets of Oxford but soon moved into performing at mic nights and his unique voice and nostalgic production on his first self produced EP “Stop and Think About it” quickly already caught the attention of "BBC Introducing" describing him as “Nobody really does 50”s and 60’s music - really cool".
2022 saw Tom perform at some of the biggest festivals on the acoustic stages such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Truck with Glastonbury giving him the title of “Demo of the Year” for 2022.
2023 saw Tom spend more time in the studio and continue to hone his writing skills with a week at the Chris Difford Writing Week and with his own headline dates, live dates with the likes of Scouting for Girls, and regular slots on Sofar Shows, amongst others, it was another busy year.
“He’s great….” John Giddings, Isle of Wight Festival
“A Class Act” - Dave Gilyeat BBC Introducing Oxford
“Imagine a soundscape starting in the Texas flatlands, driving through Arkansas and Shreveport before rolling into Tennessee with Telecaster hooks and a clear tenor voice that can echo Sam Cooke Jonh Ingham
“Tom is passionate, positive and delivers great songs, I’m a big fan!” Chris Difford
2024 saw another busy year for Tom and the meeting of perhaps his one of his best songwriting partnerships with producer writer James Dring and front man of the Magic Gang, Jack Kaye. This culiminated in two of Tom’s biggest tracks to date on streaming platforms with the singles “This Time” and “Keep Calling” and he toured alongside former frontman of Kasabian, Tom Meighan. Festivals included a sellout tent at the Black Deer Festival and headlining some local shows in the Oxfordshire area along with multiple Sofar dates.
