Join us for a welcoming, face‑to‑face professional development session designed specifically for the disability and NDIS community, including participants, families, support coordinators, and providers.
This session will be presented by topic experts from , and supported by , bringing together lived experience, sector knowledge, and practical insights to support inclusive and affirming practice within disability and NDIS settings.
Together, we’ll explore:
- Common key terms and inclusive language
- Sex and gender - understanding differences and intersections
- Health outcomes and experiences for LGBTQIA+ people with disability
- An introduction to queer culture and lived experience
- Practical approaches to inclusive and respectful practice
This session is designed to be interactive and conversational, creating a safe space for discussion, questions, and shared learning. It aims to support greater understanding and confidence when working with LGBTQIA+ participants, families, and colleagues.No prior knowledge is required. This session is suitable for anyone working within, or connected to, the disability and NDIS sector who is interested in strengthening inclusive, person‑centred practice.
