Description

In today’s complex, fast-changing, and diverse world, leadership requires more than technical expertise — it demands awareness, change capability, and the ability to engage people across differences. When leaders intentionally create environments where every voice is valued and every talent is leveraged, teams unlock higher engagement, creativity, innovation, and performance.

This hybrid panel discussion brings together three complementary perspectives on inclusive leadership, belonging, and identity. Drawing from change management, global corporate leadership, law, technology, and lived experience, the speakers explore why diversity and inclusion are not optional initiatives, but core leadership capabilities in today’s world.

Through honest dialogue and real-life examples, the session invites leaders, professionals, and allies to reflect on their leadership impact and discover how inclusive leadership turns differences into collective strength and sustainable results, within the Dutch and global context.

What We Will Do

This interactive panel discussion combines strategic insight, lived experience, and active audience engagement. The speakers will explore how inclusive leadership shows up in daily behaviors, systems, and decisions — from employee engagement and belonging, to team dynamics, technology, and ethics.

The session will include:

  • Moderated panel discussions on inclusive leadership, belonging, and team engagement
  • Practical examples of how diversity drives creativity, innovation, and business performance
  • Insights into engaging across differences in the workplace
  • Reflections on psychological safety, visibility, and identity
  • Conversations on technology, privacy, and the human impact of AI
  • Interactive moments with the audience through questions, reflection, and dialogue

The event is designed to be accessible, engaging, and reflective, encouraging participants to actively participate both in-person and online.

Lizbeth Gallardo Castillo- Senior Leader at Philips | Advocate for Inclusive, People-First Leadership

Lizbeth Gallardo Castillo is a bold, purpose-driven leader known for turning differences into sources of strength, innovation, and performance. Currently working in a senior leadership role at Philips, she has led large-scale transformation and excellence initiatives across global teams.

Her international career spans R&D, strategy, operations, quality, and procurement, where she consistently challenges traditional ways of working and champions inclusive, people-first leadership as a driver of sustainable results.

Beyond her professional role, Lizbeth’s personal journey as an international professional, mentor, and mother of two has deeply shaped her leadership perspective. Living and working across cultures has heightened her awareness of identity, visibility, and belonging in the workplace. These experiences fuel her passion for LGBTQ+ inclusion, neurodiversity, and cultural diversity — not as abstract ideals, but as everyday leadership responsibilities.

Sofie van der Meulen- Expert Privacy & Health Law | TEDx Speaker | Advocate for an Inclusive Society

Sofie van der Meulen is an expert in privacy and health law and a passionate advocate for an inclusive society. In 2022, she delivered a TEDx talk on diversity and inclusion in the workplace, calling for a critical, curious, and human-centered approach to leadership and decision-making.

Drawing from both her legal expertise and personal experience, Sofie highlights the societal impact of new technologies such as AI, pointing to both the risks of reinforced exclusion and the opportunities to create workplaces — and a society — where more people feel they belong.

At the heart of all her stories lies our shared humanity. Sofie invites reflection on questions of belonging, privacy, ethics, and responsibility, especially in the grey areas where the law does not offer clear answers. Having grown up in a world that often told her she did not belong, she now encourages leaders to navigate complexity with curiosity, courage, and compassion.
