🎮💙 Inclusive Gaming Dunedin – First Pilot Session Announced! 💙🎮I’m incredibly excited to officially announce the very first pilot session for Inclusive Gaming Dunedin!

⏰ 1:00PM – 4:00PM
Inclusive Gaming Dunedin is a new grassroots community initiative focused on creating a safe, welcoming, low-pressure gaming and social environment for disabled and neurodivergent people in Dunedin.
This is NOT competitive esports.
This is about:
💙 Friendship
💙 Social connection
💙 Accessibility
💙 Belonging
💙 Safe spaces
💙 Reducing isolation
💙 Being yourself without judgement
Whether you’re autistic, neurodivergent, physically disabled, socially anxious, have mental health challenges, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, or simply want a calm and welcoming place to connect with others — you are welcome here 💙
The environment is being designed to be sensory-friendly and relaxed, including:
✨ Soft lighting
✨ Blinds down for reduced glare
✨ Calm atmosphere
✨ Lavender aromatherapy mist
✨ Chill seating & beanbags
✨ Quiet low-pressure environment
✨ Come-and-go as needed
There will also be:
🎲 Board games kindly available through the library
📱 iPads available to use
☕ Coffee machine & hot drinks
🥤 Cans of fizz
🍫 Snacks, chips & lollies
💧 Water available
You’re also welcome to:
🎮 Bring your own console
🎧 Bring headphones if you’d like quiet time or want to listen to your own content
We simply ask that games played are:
✅ Non-toxic
✅ Cooperative or peaceful where possible
✅ Not overly violent or distressing
The goal is for everyone to feel safe, comfortable, respected, and included.
You do NOT need to actively socialise if you don’t want to.
You can:

💙 Play games
💙 Relax
💙 Chat
💙 Watch
💙 Come and go freely
No pressure. No judgement.
