Discover the art and tradition of loose incense in this hands-on introductory workshop designed for beginners. Participants will learn the foundations of crafting loose incense using ground herbs, spices, woods, and resins, with an emphasis on understanding scent profiles, energetic qualities, and safe, effective blending techniques. The class will also cover basic methods for burning loose incense, including charcoal use, fire safety, and creating a mindful ritual experience. No prior experience is needed—this workshop is intended as a welcoming starting point for anyone curious about incense making. A future, more advanced workshop will build on these skills and focus specifically on creating formed incense such as sticks and cones.
Your workshop includes written instruction on how to make incense, and all materials needed to make two incense blends to take home. Additionally, you’ll be supplied with a container of incense-burning coals. A selection of fire-safe incense burning containers will also be available for purchase at the workshop.
Your instructor will guide you through the process of selecting and blending your incense to create a scent you will love!
