Through architecture, symbols, urban development, and historical context, we examine HOW THE SPANISH COLONIAL CITY REDEFINED SACRED SPACES, often REUSING INKA TEMPLES AS FOUNDATIONS FOR NEW RELIGIOUS AND SOCIAL STRUCTURES. La Almudena becomes a key location to understand how different worldviews—Inka and European—intersected, overlapped, and reshaped Cusco’s identity over time.
