About this Event
Textile Seekers x TANK
Textileseekers comes to London to launch: IN THEIR HANDS, a celebration of craft, vision, and dialogue, bringing together creators across disciplines. Textileseekers will bring a beautiful array of creations made with Vietnamese craftspeople, kicking off a collaboration series. The brand's first-ever collaboration is with Caroline Issa, from TANK, and will showcase objects and other makers' collections during a two-day public pop-up exhibition, shop and gathering at the TANK gallery space on November 21 and 22, 2025.
Thao Phuong, the visionary founder of TextileSeekers, brings nearly two decades of experience as a fashion designer to her work. Driven by a passion for craftsmanship and sustainability, she launched TextileSeekers to explore and preserve traditional textile practices beyond her ancestral roots in Vietnam. Inspired by a transformative journey, where she witnessed the artistry and fragility of indigenous textile traditions, Thao shifted her focus from fashion to slow craft. Her mission is to build a global movement that celebrates craftsmanship, empowers artisan communities, and redefines the future of ethical artistry.
Inspired by the Vietnamese Thôi Nôi, a child’s first birthday ritual where the child chooses from a selection of meaningful objects that might forecast their career choices or personality traits, IN THEIR HANDS honours intuition, memory, and heritage. Objects become touchstones, vessels of personal and cultural stories. Together, these creations form a quiet conversation across hands, disciplines, and generations: a shared language of expression that emerges when creativity is placed not in one, but in many hands.
