The next Spotlight night features Mark Bradshaw a composer, songwriter and performer now based in Bamford, Hope Valley. Accomplished on guitar, mbira and piano, he’s researched, recorded and performed all over the world.At this performance, Mark presents new songs influenced by the music, the musicians and the landscapes of Tanzania, Zimbabwe and eSwatini and by the woods, moors and edges of the Dark Peak. Guitar parts often link back to African ideas of groove and syncopation, and the harmonics and patterns of bow and mbira music. Words connect to the beauty, peace and rhythms of the natural world and our inability to value the earth above our selfishness and greed.
