A unique opportunity to join the Chairman of the Waterloo Association to explore London sites associated with the 1st Duke of Wellington, including a sandwich lunch at The East India Club where the news of the victory at Waterloo was communicated to the Prince Regent.
The tour will begin at 1045 hrs by the Statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square. Sir Evelyn will then lead the group to Black Rod’s entrance to the House of Lords (Wellington was a member and Prime Minister from 1828-1830). There will be private entry to the Royal Gallery to view the Maclise painting. The tour will then progress via Whitehall, Horse Guards (with a private entry to Wellington’s Office when he was commander in chief), the Duke of York’s column, the Atheneum Club (the Duke was a member), Pall Mall, St James Street, Berkeley Street, and the East India Club with a rare opportunity to see the Waterloo Room. Arrival at the East India Club approximately 1.30pm
There will be an opportunity for sandwiches, wine, tea/coffee at the East India Club.
Cost without lunch is £30 per head. £60 including lunch. For those opting for the lunch at The East India Club please contact the Hon Secretary on [email protected]. Lunch is expected to conclude at 2.30pm ish.

Dress code and Security arrangements. Please adhere to both:
Jacket, collar and tie for men. Ladies should aim to comply with the spirit of the code. Reasonable guidelines are dresses, smart separates, suits, tailored trousers.
Passport or Driving Licence must be brought.
