James Hannaham is the author of the books Pilot Impostor, God Says No, and Delicious Foods, which won the PEN/Faulkner Award for Fiction. Both Delicious Foods and his latest novel, Didn’t Nobody Give a Shit What Happened to Carlotta, were winners of the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, New York Times Notable Books, and finalists for the LA Times Book Prize. His visual art has been shown at the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU in Richmond, VA, Open Source Gallery, Main Street Arts, and DC Moore Gallery. He is a 2023 Guggenheim Fellow.

Daniel Lefferts was born in upstate New York. He holds an MFA from Columbia University and has taught writing at Columbia and Rutgers. Ways and Means is his first novel.

James Frankie Thomas is a lifelong New Yorker. He attended the City College of New York and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. He has worked as a video store clerk, a Shakespeare tutor, and the “YA of Yore” columnist for the Paris Review; he was most recently a theater critic at Vulture. His first novel, Idlewild, was named a Best Book of 2023 by NPR, Vanity Fair, Vox, and the Paris Review, and was a finalist for the LA Times Book Prizes.
