What better way to start January than by learning from real-life stories, engaging with fellow professionals, and having a good time? This isn’t your average food safety training—it’s an opportunity to connect, reflect, and prepare for the future of food safety.
Over the past five years, our local food and beverage communities have faced many challenges. This is a chance to come together and explore where we are now, where we want to be, and the roadmap to getting there.
Your instructor, Laura Finley, is not only a seasoned food and beverage professional like many of her students, but also a leader in the industry. Together with her husband, Zac Finley, they’ve helped over 2,500 individuals in Montana and Idaho obtain their Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certifications.
Zac and Laura also play key roles in guiding local businesses through the startup process and the development of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans. Learn more about these services including application assistance and HACCP information by visiting www.FinleyFBconsulting.com/haccp.
Important Note:
If you're vacuum packaging, conducting sous vide, utilizing cook-chill methods, making acidified rice, or performing any other high-risk processes, an approved HACCP plan is required before implementing these procedures. If you're already using one of these methods without a plan, your business could be exposed to unnecessary risks.
HACCP regulations are complex and easy to misinterpret. If you're unsure whether your operation requires a HACCP plan, feel free to reach out for a free, no-pressure consultation. We're happy to help assess your needs and guide you through the process if a plan is necessary.
Back to the CFPM training—this course and exam meet the state requirement that every retail food establishment must have at least one certified manager on staff. Our certifications are recognized nationally and are valid for five years.
The more certified managers on your team, the stronger your operation. If possible, consider sending multiple staff members—it’s a smart investment in your team and your business.
Investing in training is a tangible way to show employees you care, which pays off in retention and team satisfaction. It’s a win-win for everyone.
And most importantly, it’s a good time! 😊
