Identify. Understand. Respond.
Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues.
Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
Please note: All participants will need to complete a 2-hour self-paced online webinar and then participate in a 5.5-hour, instructor-led videoconferencing. If pre-work is not completed prior to the scheduled session, the participant will be withdrawn and will need to reschedule.
Topics Covered:
Depression and mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Trauma
- Psychosis
- Substance Use disorders
**If you are recently bereaved by the loss of a loved one to suicide, and less than a year has passed, you may want to take this training later. This is your decision.**
