In 2016, Samantics premiered a new choral requiem, “In Paradisum,” by Sam Schieber.To celebrate the 10th anniversary of that occasion, Samantics is
bringing “In Paradisum” back to Sacramento audiences–but with a
difference! In the intervening years, Sam has added six new pieces to the requiem and rearranged the entire work to totally new effect. This will be a requiem unlike any other you have ever experienced: high drama, low comedy, and everything in between. Just as we remember our loved ones in a variety of ways, so this work embraces the breadth of the human experience as we respond to death, loss, and hope.
