About this Event
In Her Own Words is a 2-hour creative writing and journalling workshop inviting women to reconnect with their voice, explore identity, and take up space on their own terms.
Faciliated by Joanna, an experienced creative counsellor and workshop facilitator, you'll be guided through jwriting prompts, and gentle reflection. Participants are invited to explore what it means to be at the centre of their own lives — to speak, write, and exist without apology.
This workshop creates a nurturing and inclusive space to:
- Reclaim your voice and self-expression
- Reflect on what womanhood means to you
- Write from intuition rather than expectation
- Connect with others through shared experience
No writing experience is required. This is not about “good writing,” grammar, or performance- it is about honesty, curiosity, and listening to yourself.
To support openness, care, and meaningful connection, this workshop will be kept small and intimate. A limited group size allows for a calm, grounded atmosphere where participants can write, reflect, and share (if they choose).
This space is open to all women, including trans women and gender-diverse people who feel aligned with this experience.
Refreshments included in ticket price.
Accessibility: The workshop will take place in a ground-floor venue with a ground-floor, accessible toilet. The space is step-free and easy to access. If you have any access needs or questions you’d like to check in about before attending, you’re warmly welcome to get in touch.
