(Department of Methodology)
Interviewing skills are a foundation for much qualitative research. This workshop covers the nuts and bolts of: what interviews are; what kind of data they yield; sampling considerations; notes on constructing an interview guide; and conducting an in interview. The aim of this workshop is that participants leave with principles pertaining to key methodological decisions at the stages of sampling, designing a topic guide, and conducting the interview. Participants are very welcome to bring issues from their own research practice for discussion.
