Join us for our very first Kiln Salon, in conversation with Chef Douglas Katz. Doug will be sharing his story, talking business, and offering insights into what's next for him and Edgewater Hospitality. Come prepared with questions!
Doors will open at 5:30pm followed by the conversation with Doug from 6pm-7pm.
Light bites will be provided along with a cash bar.
Located upstairs at Kiln, the Kiln Salon series is designed to bring people and ideas together in conversation. We plan to feature panels and speakers on a variety of topics, including what's next in food and beverage, the emergence of AI in our daily lives, and the business of restaurants.
Chef Douglas Katz is a native of Shaker Heights. A graduate of Hawken School, Doug holds a bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Denver and a degree from The Culinary Institute of America. His restaurant career has taken him from Oregon to Colorado before bringing him back to Cleveland, where he opened Fire Food and Drink in Shaker Square in 2002. He and business partner Todd Thompson currently own Edgewater Hospitality, whose restaurants include Zhug, Amba, and Kiln. Doug is also chef partner at the Cleveland Museum of Art and Morrison Healthcare at the Cleveland Clinic, and serves as a chef ambassador for Seafood Watch at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
