Cao Fei (geb. 1978) ist eine chinesische Multimedia-Künstlerin, die in Peking arbeitet. Ihre Arbeiten befassen sich mit dem zeitgenössischen China und erfassen dessen schnelle soziale und kulturelle Transformation, die besonders durch westliche und japanische Kulturen beeinflusst ist. Cao Fei verbindet soziale Kommentare, populäre Ästhetik, Surrealismus mit dokumentarischen Elementen in Videos, digitalen Medien und Performances.Cao Fei hat ihre Arbeiten unter anderem im Tate Modern in London, im Centre Pompidou in Paris, im MoMA, im Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York und im Palais Populaire in Berlin ausgestellt. Ihre Arbeiten waren Teil der Ausstellung Micro Era. Medienkunst aus China im Kulturforum der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin. Ausstellungen im Jahr 2025 umfassen My City is Yours in der Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney und The Future Is Not A Dream im MALBA in Buenos Aires.

Cao Fei (b. 1978) is a Chinese multimedia artist based in Beijing. Her work delves into contemporary China and captures its rapid social and cultural transformation, particularly influenced by Western and Japanese cultures. Cao Fei blends social commentary, popular aesthetics, surrealism, and documentary elements through video, digital media and performance.
Cao Fei has exhibited her work at Tate Modern in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, MoMA and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Her works were part of the exhibition Micro Era. Media Art from China at the Kulturforum of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Exhibitions during 2025 include My City is Yours at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney and The Future Is Not A Dream at MALBA in Buenos Aires.
