BIO:
Lori-Ann Speed is an accomplished Canadian pianist who creates minimalist, virtuosic and cinematic music that transcends genre, culture and age. Passionate about music from the time she saw a big, white upright piano wheeled into her grade three classroom, Lori-Ann received her Bachelor’s of Music from the University of British Columbia School of Music where she was inspired by composers like Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, and Philip Glass.
One of the few female composers in the modern neoclassical world, she has released seven albums of original compositions. ‘In Search of Wings’ and ‘In the Wake of a Whisper’ received national airplay and a nomination for Best Instrumental Release at the West Coast Music Awards, respectively. Her emotive, vibrant works offer a timeless message that connects with fans from all walks of life.
