A boundary does not merely run through countries. It runs through the minds of all people, through thoughts, through languages, through sentences or words that we utter or prefer to keep to ourselves.
Some boundaries are important, others destructive. At boundaries, friction, conflict and art arise. There is one thing that almost all boundaries bring with them: the longing to cross them. We stand at it with one foot in the familiar, the other tentatively in open space.
Sometimes it is a fence, sometimes a hesitation. It is skin and horizon; exploring it requires courage in any case.
I invite these courageous souls to a workshop.
We will work with overhead projectors, entirely analogue and directly on the image, using minimal resources and natural materials. In this case, this limitation helps us to delve deeper and explore the borderlands between light and shadow with both head and heart.
👀The Artist:
Claudia Reh has been an independent artist since the late 1990s. Her work, which is distinctly interdisciplinary and consistently rooted in analogue techniques, explores a wide range of themes.
She creates installations, animated films and performances, runs workshops, and also works as an organiser and producer. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and festivals across Europe.
🙌FREE workshop for young people under 30 from Italy and Slovenia to experiment with light art and multimedia techniques, focusing on the theme of borders and exploring the future of the cross-border region.
