Exchange Christchurch (XCHC) is proud to present Desert Dwellers for a rare and intimate Ōtautahi appearance.
About Desert Dwellers
Desert Dwellers is a pioneering electronic music project founded in 1999, emerging from the legendary Moontribe gatherings in the deserts of Southern California and New Mexico. For over two decades, Desert Dwellers have crafted a signature sound that weaves deep bass, earthy percussion, etheric vocals, and cross-cultural instrumentation into immersive sonic journeys that move between meditative depth and dancefloor energy.
Their catalogue spans dozens of albums and remixes, including the Beatport #1 electronica album BREATH, and they've graced stages at some of the world's most iconic festivals — Burning Man, Boom (Portugal), Lightning in a Bottle, Symbiosis, Rainbow Serpent (Australia), Coachella, and Red Rocks.
2026 marks a significant new evolution for the project, and we're excited Ōtautahi gets to experience it firsthand.
The Night // The Venue | 📍 Exchange Christchurch (XCHC)
This will be a full-spectrum experience inside an industrial arts space. Special guests will be joining the lineup (tba), and the production crew is known for delivering well-curated nights of visuals, and sensory delights.
XCHC is a clubhouse for creatives — an audio/visual lab with a constantly changing layout keeping the productions intersting and evolving. Engineers, musicians, event producers, and more use XCHC to explore the realms of what nightlife 'could be', while others experiment with elixers, tinctures and teas behind the bar. Thousands of artists have produced and showcased here, and we're excited to add Desert Dwellers to the list!
