When Trauma Happens, Will You Be Ready? In emergencies, every second counts. Will you know what to do?
What if you do not have your trauma kit?
Emergencies rarely go exactly as trained. What happens when you don’t have your tourniquet, trauma kit, or chest seal at hand? In this follow-up session to our popular Civilian Trauma Stop the Bleed class, we flip the script: you’ll learn the same life-saving principles from our trauma class—but applied in low-resource, real-world scenarios using what you have on hand.
- Build confidence for uncontrolled environments (home, car, workplace, wilderness).
- Transition from “ideal gear” mentality to “make-it-work” mindset
- Strengthen your ability to act quickly and effectively in unpredictable settings
If you attended our Monthly Civilian Trauma/Stop the Bleed class—or even if you didn’t—this hands-on workshop will teach you how to manage serious injuries using everyday, improvised tools when standard equipment isn’t available.
Course Highlights
- Trauma and STB Review: We’ll kick things off with a fast-paced, interactive review of the core trauma concepts.
- Hands-on movement & extraction: Work through drags, carries, and improvised litters using everyday items.
- Improvised tourniquets & pressure dressings: Practice applying tourniquets and pressure dressings when your designated kit isn’t available—learning what works, what doesn’t, and why.
- Group drills & real-world scenarios: You’ll apply everything in practical drills where each team is given limited resources and must improvise a full trauma response from movement to “hospital handoff.”
Who should attend:
- Anyone who participated in our monthly trauma class and wants to take their skills further
- First responders, coaches, instructors, athletic/training staff, workplace-safety leads
- Outdoor enthusiasts, parents, travelers, and citizens who want to be ready when gear is missing
