About this Event
This workshop will be led by singer songwriter Kirsty Almeida (see bio below), and will look at how we can use improvisation as a practical, playful, and inspirational tool to facilitate the creative process of songwriting. This workshop is not exclusively for singers, or even songwriters; so please come along if you’re an instrumentalist with an interest in learning more about composing and writing songs.
A keyboard, drum kit and one guitar will be provided, along with 2 microphones and PA system. Otherwise, please bring your own instrument. Guitarists, I’d recommend you bring your own just in case. We’ll also provide any writing materials for the workshop.
The workshop will be 2.5 hours long, with a 15 minute break in the middle.
Hot and cold drinks are available to buy at Gut Level.
HEADS UP:
Gut Level does not have car or cycle parking, but there is city parking a walkable distance away, and cycle parking at the Crucible. Disabled parking can be found near the Crucible, and Gut Level has step-free access. Please factor this into your travel time so that the workshop can start on time.
TRAVEL BURSARY:
If you need to get a taxi or bus to attend, but cannot afford to pay for this, we can cover any local travel. Please email us at [email protected] and let us know if you’d like some support.
