About this Event
As your spring crops fade, you may wonder what to do in the garden over the summer. If you are planning to go on vacation, don't have time to actively garden, or just don't want to deal with the heat, try improving your garden soil.
The class consists of 2 parts:
- The initial presentation of information and discussion indoors. In this portion of the class, we'll discuss the benefits of solarization and how to use it.
- An additional hands-on component follows outside in our Urban Demonstration Garden. Both presentation and hands on activities will take place at our Urban Garden location: 1032 Superior St., Jacksonville, FL 32254 .
Please be prepared by wearing close-toed shoes, and have a hat, sunscreen, water and anything else you need to feel comfortable outside in the sun.
Please note: Recording the presentation, either video or audio, is not permitted unless written permission is provided by the educator.
The University of Florida is committed to providing universal access to all of our events. For disability accommodations such as sign language interpreters and listening devices, please contact Beth Marlowe ([email protected] or 904-255-7450) at least 2 weeks in advance. Advance notice is necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs.
