Curious about improv? Join us for a welcoming introduction to long-form improvisation focused on collaboration, creativity, listening, and connection.
Rather than trying to be the funniest person in the room, long-form improv is about building trust, supporting others, accepting ideas, and creating something together. Through games, exercises, and scene work, participants will explore the foundations of improv in a supportive, low-pressure environment designed for all experience levels.
Students will practice active listening, character creation, scene-building, and communication skills while gaining confidence performing in front of others. Along the way, participants will discover how improv techniques can support creativity, adaptability, and connection in everyday life.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
About your instructor:
Sarah Caffee was an educator and school leader for 15 years. Throughout her career in education, she has seen the importance of play for both children, and adults. Sarah has also been performing long-form improv since 2016 with troupes in Arizona, Washington D.C. She also served as a board member of the Washington Improv Theater. In Duluth, she founded the puppet troupe, Good Puppet Bad Puppet, which focuses on interactive, improvisational puppetry. Sarah believes that long-form improv can help us build connections with each other. She also believes that improv isn’t about being the funniest person in the room, but is about collaborating with others to create magic.
