Level 2 of the Coalition Theater's Improv training program. Create rich and successful two-person scenes, the foundation of longform improv.
About this Event

Emotional reactions are the bedrock of improv. In our second level, you will strengthen the skills you built in our Intro class and focus on creating sustainable scenes based on patterns of emotional behavior that inform Characters and Relationships.

Great if you want to dig deeper into improv or if you need to interact with other humans in your day-to-day life.

Dates:The class runs Sundays from 3/29/2026 to 5/17/2026, starting 3/29/2026 and running for 8 weeks.
A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of May 17.
Instructor: Kenneth Stephens
Kenneth Stephens has been performing live on stage off and on for almost a decade. Firstly, as an aspiring recording artist, and more recently as an improvisor at the Coalition Theater. Since January 2023, his consistent involvement with the nonprofit organization has facilitated what he refers to as a “creative renaissance.” He is a member of the narrative-driven improv house team Street Jelly. In addition to his recent delving into the world of sketch, Kenneth is also the current coach of VCU BIPOC improv team Black, Brown, & Honey. His indie work with Grizzly Bear is also something to behold as it often demonstrates the fun to be found in running a Spokane with two people. When he’s not trying to be funny he spends his time earning his reputation as an avid astrologer and fighting game enthusiast.
Prerequisites: Improv 101, or equivalent classes at a comparable institution. Email [email protected] with questions.
Cost: $250 (Early Bird: $220)
