About this Event

Save the Date!

🎉You're invited to join Impact Hub Houston as we celebrate 7 years of impact!

Our work has always been rooted in community. To mark this milestone, we’re hosting a hands-on learning experience focused on one of our superpowers: Hosting meaningful, inclusive, and action-oriented conversations that spark real change.

This event is our way of giving back to our members, partners, and community by sharing the tools, practices, and hosting frameworks that have helped Impact Hub build community, support local changemakers, and co-create impact since we opened our doors in Fall 2018.
Who Should Attend:

  • Impact Hub Houston Members, Alumni, and Partners
  • Community Builders
  • Aspiring Impact Driven Conveners & Hosts

Whether you're a longtime collaborator or new to our network, this day will leave you feeling more equipped (and more inspired!) to host with heart and purpose.
What to Bring:

  • An open mind and open heart
  • Your stories and lessons learned (because we’ll be learning from each other, too)
  • A notebook or device for capturing insights and ideas
  • (Optional) A small item that represents your work or community to share during group exercises

RSVP & Support:

Our team is giving back by making this event free and open to the community!

  • 💌 Reserve your spot today to ensure your seat at the table. (Limited seating available during the workshop portion.)
  • 💚 If you believe in this work, we invite you to make a donation to support Impact Hub Houston’s mission and help us continue empowering changemakers for years to come. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference! Donate here.

Why It Matters:
We believe in radical collaboration and shared leadership. When more people know how to host intentionally, more powerful conversations can happen, and more inclusive solutions can emerge. This is your invitation to be part of that movement.

Come celebrate, learn, and co-create with us!

Agenda

🕑: 02:00 PM - 03:10 PM
Welcome + Hosting Foundations - Ion Conference Room 031
Host: Grace Rodriguez, Michelle Avalos & Tracie Jae

Info: We’ll begin with a grounding Welcome & Opening Circle led by Tracie, creating space for connection and intention. Then, Grace and Michelle will guide us through an overview of Impact Hub Houston’s journey sharing who we are, who we serve, our impact over the past 7 years, and our bold vision for Houston by 2030. To set the stage for community-led action, they’ll introduce the Art of Hosting, a powerful approach to participatory leadership used by Impact Hubs around the world. You’ll explore the Four-Fold Practice and learn how to host yourself, others, and your community, and discuss how you can begin applying these tools right away.

🕑: 03:10 PM - 04:20 PM
Practice & Integration: Interactive Session - Ion Conference Room 031
Host: Michelle Avalos & Tracie Jae

Info: In this interactive session, you’ll put the Art of Hosting into practice through a dynamic World Café exercise, using guided dialogue and collective mind-mapping to explore big questions and co-create insights. After sharing your group’s reflections in a brief harvest presentation, we’ll walk through how to implement these practices in real-world convenings. Finally, we’ll close the session with a reflective Closing Circle, and offer ways to plug into Impact Hub Houston through hosting opportunities like OPN, Community Cafes, and more.

🕑: 04:20 PM - 05:00 PM
Community Mixer & Member Showcase - Ion Conference Room 032
Host: Tracie Jae & Maria Burgos

Info: Connect with fellow attendees, explore community-led projects, and meet Impact Hub Houston members during this casual mixer. Open Project Night projects and member initiatives will be featured, too, offering a chance to learn, collaborate, and celebrate the work happening across our network.
