While mass deportation and detention have taken center stage under the current administration, these practices, along with the federal agencies charged with implementing them, have a long history in the United States. The talk looks at the current moment in historical perspective.About the speaker:
Rachel Ida Buff is a historian of migration and immigrant rights movement. She is particularly interested in international political mobilizations and repression, from the Cold War to the present. She is currently a professor of history at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
