Have you ever felt overwhelmed, angry, or sad about climate change, and you don't know what to do about it or how to make a difference?
You may be dealing with eco-anxiety - a common phenomenon that is only increasing as we live with and learn more about the climate crisis and its impacts. Eco-anxiety (and the entire range of complex emotions that climate change can cause) is normal, and in fact, a rational response to our warming world.
But what can we do about it? You don't have to process these emotions alone. IMMERSION is a weekend-long event dedicated to exploring eco-anxiety, meeting others who feel the same way, learning supportive tools for coping, and making a climate action plan (i.e., how you'll put your unique skills and passions to work after the event is over).
Hosted by two youth-led climate organizations - Climate Hearth and Shake Up the Establishment - IMMERSION is jam-packed with enriching discussions, an eco-arts workshop, meditation, an urban biodiversity walk, presentations, workshops, and more.
The structure of the event is based on Shake Up the Establishment's 3Rs Framework: Rest, Recovery, and Resistance - a guided approach to processing your climate emotions and moving into climate action for climate activists, community organizers, and engaged citizens alike. Learn more about it here: https://shakeuptheestab.org/3rs/
We can't wait to see you there!
What does it cost? IMMERSION is free, with a donation option for those who wish to support our work.
Do I have to participate in the whole weekend? No! You can register by half-day segment, allowing you to fully customize your experience.
Who can attend? IMMERSION is an all-ages event open to anyone who is concerned about anthropogenic climate change and its impacts.
