DESCRIPTION

How might teachers leverage the coherence of IM 6–12 Math in order to enhance access to grade-level mathematics for students? The purpose of this session is to uncover and explore the development of functions topics in the curriculum.

LEARNING GOALS

• Identify representations used to describe relationships between quantities.
• Describe how components of the modeling cycle support reasoning about functions.
• Examine progressions of representing functions and modeling with functions in the curriculum.
• Recognize connections and dependencies across units and courses within IM.
