DESCRIPTION
How can effectively implementing instructional routines impact students’ experience with IM Math? This session provides teachers an opportunity to explore several important instructional routines used in IM Math. These routines often occur at the beginning of a lesson and set the stage for eliciting student thinking and engaging students with the math of the lesson. By engaging in the routines themselves, teachers will gain effective guidance on how these routines are used in IM Math.
LEARNING GOALS

- Use the structure of an instructional routine to plan for implementation.
- Connect the design of an instructional routine to the learning goals of a lesson.
