Join Ileana Alarcón, an esteemed Santa Fe Vital Spaces Artist, in part II of creating creatures to add to her Window Box installation, "Madremonte."Drawing inspiration from the rich Colombian legend of la Madremonte (Mother Mountain), this jungle-themed masterpiece serves as a powerful reminder of our planet's delicate balance amidst the climate crisis. It's not just an art project – it's a call to action for our entire community.
Once the sculptures are dry, you're welcome (but not required) to return to add your personal touch by painting the creatures. These painted additions symbolize a collective dedication to climate action and are offered as a tribute to la Madremonte.
Please note: children must be accompanied by an adult, and we recommend wearing clothes that can get a little messy. Join us as we embark on this creative journey, united in our commitment to making a difference!
This will be a 2-part event. You may sign up to participate in one or both of the parts.
The event is FREE, but registration is required.
