Book Launch: The Radical Jewish Tradition
by Donny Gluckstein & Janey Stone
What does it mean to come from a history of resistance?
The Radical Jewish Tradition digs into stories that don’t always get told—of Jewish organizers, rebels, and ordinary people who refused to accept the world as it was. From anti-fascist fighters to labour organizers, the book traces a thread of struggle, solidarity, and refusal that runs deep.
This isn’t a polished, official history. It’s about the people who pushed back—often at great risk—and the movements they built alongside others fighting oppression.
Hosted by IJV Montreal, this launch is part of an ongoing effort to engage with Jewish histories and traditions rooted in justice, collective liberation and solidarity across communities.
We’ll be gathering for readings from the book, along with some reflections and discussion on how these histories resonate today.
Come through for an evening of reflection, community, and snacks!
