Join us for an evening of incredible short indie horror films in Manchester!
About this Event

The Independent Horror Society has been dedicated to supporting grassroots horror cinema for nearly 10 years, and we're so proud to have well over 1,800 committed horror fans and filmmakers in our ranks.

We have launched the Indie Film Showcase to do what we love best -- bringing incredible short genre films from hugely talented filmmakers, to the wonderful UK horror community. And on 30th March we hosted our biggest ever night of short films in London, showcasing a superb range of projects from all over the globe.

But with so much passion and hard work having gone into each and every film on the line up, we want as many folk as possible to see them. Which is why we're delighted to be able to take them out on the road -- and our first stop will be the glorious city of Manchester!

So join us at the 53Two theatre on Watson Street for a night of fun, meeting new friends, networking, and of course -- over 2 solid hours of incredible short horror films.

Doors open at 6:15pm, with films starting at 6:30pm sharp. There will also be a short break between blocks.

(Please note: standard IHS Members can get tickets for £11, and IHS Pro members get them for just £6. Please see our member hub for the codes!)

Here's a quick preview of what's in store (and you can ignore the London dates!):

Here’s the full line up:

Badger!

UK, Dir: Barry Wilkinson

In a small town in England, chaos ensues when a mischievous killer badger goes on a rampage, terrorizing the unsuspecting locals. Filled with humour, mayhem, and lots of gore, this horror comedy promises a wild ride through the absurd and the macabre.

Black Samphire

UK, Dir: Alexander Vanegas-Sus

When Mari, an overworked journalist and her girlfriend, Isla take a weekend away in West Sussex, they stumble across a strand of strange samphire, contaminated by the water pollution in the area.

With Isla developing an obsessive addiction to the poisonous plant Mari is catapulted into a super-natural confrontation against her lifelong partner, in which she must face the consequences of ignoring the signs.

Carnis

UK, Dir: Rubel Rafael Ahmed

During a night run, a woman is stalked by a mysterious stranger.

Find You Here

UK, Dir: Jo Smyth

Find You Here is a gnarly piece of folkloric horror about what happens when a toxic couple find themselves at an abandoned scare event built on evil land. Will they survive the night?

Knock, Knock, (Knock)

UK, Dir: Brendan Cleaves

A man finds a suspicious blood covered door in his living room.

Pablo, Honey!

UK, Dir: Jamie Yuan

When unemployed Emma starts dating the poltergeist who haunts her flat, she struggles to resolve her impending eviction with the ghost’s ever increasing possessiveness.

Red Sky at Night

UK, Dir: Ben Daly

After being forewarned about his own mysterious death, an ageing farmer becomes increasingly paranoid about the colour of the night sky.

Sincopat

Spain, Dir: Pol Diggler

Ona, a creative executive of a large company, is about to launch the latest technological revolution into the market: a device that allows listening to music directly inside the brain.

Sleep Talking

UK, Dir: Jack Berry

Simon and Vicky are an ordinary couple whose peaceful nights are shattered by Vicky’s sleep talking. Initially dismissed as harmless, Vicky’s nocturnal ramblings could be a sign of something darker and more dangerous.

The Cutbacks

UK, Dir: Robert Sladden

A work call takes a dark turn when one of the team accidentally leaves their camera on.

The Dead Of Winter

UK, Dir: Stephen Graves

After an affluent man leaves a rough sleeper to die in the cold on Christmas Eve, he’s haunted by a figure that may be a vengeful spirit – or his own guilty conscience.

The Girl with the Haunted Vagina

UK, Dir: Samantha O’Rourke

Sexually repressed Meghan desperately tries to reach climax but is thwarted at every turn by the ghost that haunts her vagina (no, really).

The Lure

UK, Dir: Tony Hipwell

Late at night, a lone fisherman discovers he is not the only one hoping to hook something.

The Wyrm of Bwlch Pen Barras

UK, Dir: Craig Williams

Early one winter morning in the rural town of Rhuthun in North Wales, three men are called upon once again to carry out a terrible assignment on the Bwlch Pen Barras mountain pass.
