About this Event

You are invited to the official launch of IgniteHER.

Presented by the Ladies in the Family Foundation, IgniteHER is a new, vibrant community inspired by and created for young African, Caribbean, and Black women who are ready to lead, connect, and ignite change.

Our vision is to build a space where you are seen, heard, and celebrated. This is more than just an event; it's the beginning of a movement to empower the next generation of female leaders. Together, we will lift, empower, and spark the change we want to see in the world.


About the Launch Event: Rooted & Rising

Join us for an exclusive networking lunch to celebrate the launch of IgniteHER. This inaugural event is your opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, engage in inspiring conversations, and become a founding member of a powerful new community.

Who Should Attend?

This event is specifically curated for young women who:

  • Identify as African, Caribbean, or Black.
  • Are between the ages of 17 and 25.
  • Are passionate about leadership, personal development, and making a positive impact.
  • Are students, young professionals, creatives, entrepreneurs, or anyone ready to connect and grow.

  • Dress Code: Business Casual
  • Ticket: $20 to reserve your spot (includes lunch and networking materials)



Parking & Transportation

Getting to Platform Calgary is easy! Here are a few options to consider for your convenience:

  • Parking is paid and there are five(5) floors of above-ground parking
  • Street Parking: Paid street parking is available on surrounding streets in the East Village. Be sure to check posted time limits and rates. You can pay using the Calgary Parking Authority's MyParking app or at the curbside pay stations.
  • Public Transit: Platform Calgary is a short 5-minute walk from the City Hall CTrain Station, which serves both the Red and Blue lines. Several major bus routes also stop nearby. We encourage using public transit for a sustainable and hassle-free experience.
