This year’s International Women’s Day theme is "GIVE TO GAIN", a powerful reminder of what it means for women to give their time, energy, voice and care to support others, and how much we all gain when we do. "When women support women, women win".We are incredibly honoured to welcome Sophie Hunt from the North West Tasmania Womens Shelter as our keynote speaker. Sophie will share insights into her current role, what that looks like day to day, and the vital support the shelter provides for women and families in need across our region.
Her work is deeply meaningful, inspiring and so important.
The morning will be relaxed and welcoming, with plenty of time to connect with the wonderful women in the room. You will be welcomed in by live music from a beautiful young local musician, setting the tone early and continuing throughout breakfast. Enjoy a delicious light breakfast prepared by your Ignite Committee, a DIY hot drinks station, and for those who feel like it, a small glass of champagne and orange juice to start the day with a little sparkle.
We will also be holding a raffle, a little different from previous years. This year we have five major prizes rather than many smaller ones, including a night’s accommodation in the absolutely gorgeous Dome at Mt Gnomon. All raffle ticket sales will once again be donated to the North West Tasmania Womens Shelter, as we have proudly done in past years.
This is our biggest and proudest event each year. A morning that holds deep importance in spreading awareness, advocating for change, and standing together for women’s rights, safety and lives.
