About this Event

This CPD module is intended to allow delegates to explore the key factors when considering R&D led growth, including:
- The importance of development and productivity in the economy
- Government levers for research & development (patent box, tax credits)
- Wider government initiatives – Innovation Zones and the new emphasis on technology

- Incubators / accelerators – critical success factors
- Private sector funding and the role of VC in different guises
The course is run in a participative manner and is aimed at creating a practical experience with applicability to all economic development practitioners both from the course learning, examples of good and poor practice and the interaction with other delegates.
This course will be led by Nigel Wilcock, Executive Director of the IED.
