Louis Besland is a Senior Partner at Heidrick & Struggles. He works across multiple geographies and is a member of the Global CEO & Board Practice.
With more than 35 years of professional and leadership experience, Louis advises supervisory boards, executive teams, and financial sponsors on CEO successions, non-executive board positions, board effectiveness, as well as strategic executive recruitments.
Louis has worked and lived in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He works particularly for established companies undergoing significant transformations – mergers, acquisitions, growth strategies, restructuring – as well as with start-up companies scaling up quickly into growth and sustainable areas like circular economy, bio-engineering, renewable resources, sustainable industry models. He has (co-)led a number of projects, studies, papers, podcasts related to the sustainable future of the industry and evolutions of governance models, eg: Change the Climate in the Boardroom.
Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, Louis was a Partner and Managing Director, leading industry practices in Europe and the Middle East, within prominent strategy and management consultancy groups: AlixPartners, Kearney, Gemini Consulting, and PA Consulting Group.
