About this Event
"The Black Male is left to continuously struggle and fight for an identity, for power, for respect, and for understanding of who he is versus what he is projected as: a nigger."
Black America has an identity crisis in that black men, who are separated by space, attitudes and culture, have been without a singular purpose for an African American (male) identity since the1995 Million Man March in Washington D.C. Looking closely at the facts, this seminar explores how black males still struggle for identity and power, which stems from discriminatory practices and media stereotypes, even when we achieve traditional measures of success.
Our featured speaker is Brotha Hassan – a native of South Florida with historical roots in the Island of Haiti and the West African nation of Benin. Hassan is a published author, community activist, social strategist, and an insightful, school History Teacher.
